## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 8-9-02 AT ABOUT 1430 HOURS, WHILE THE MASA CREW WAS CHECKING THROUGH SECURITY CHECK POINT, THE SECURITY AGENT DETECTED THE SMELL OF ALCOHOL ON ONE OF THE CREW MEMBERS. THE CREW WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND TESTED. THE FIRST OFFICER AND FLIGHT ATTENDANT TESTED NEGATIVE. THE CAPTAIN TESTED POSITIVE. THE INFORMATION WE GATHERED CONCERNING THE INCIDETN WAS FORWARDED TO THE MASA CMU FOR THE APPROPRIATE ACTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
