## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON THE FIFTH LANDING OF THE NIGHT, NORMAL TOUCHDOWN WITH 3 GREEN (DOWN & LOCKED) LANDING GEAR. ON ROLL OUT THE PIC NOTICED THE NOSE KEPT GOING ON DOWN TO THE GROUND. THE NOSE GEAR HAD COLLAPSED. AFTER GETTING THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE HANGER IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIVITS THAT CONNECT THE NOSE GEAR LANDING ACTUATOR TO THE BULKHEAD HAD SHEARED INSIDE THE CABIN. THIS ALLOWED THE THIN BULKHEAD TO FLEX FAR ENOUGH FORWARD TO UNLOCK THE OVERCENTERING ARM. THIS ALLOWED THE NOSE GEAR TO COLLAPSE AND THE AIRCRAFT TO SINK TO THE RUNWAY. RECORDS CHECK SHOWED NO MAINTENANCE HAD BEEN PERFORMED SINCE LAST ANNUAL IN FEB. 2002 AT WHICH TIME THE NOSE GEAR ACTUATOR HAD BEEN RESEALED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
