## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS ON A IFR FLIGHT PLAN FROM MAO TO RZZ. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED MAO AT APPROXIMATELY 2000 LOCAL TIME. 13 MILES FROM RZZ THE PILOT COULD SEE THE AIRPORT AND CANCELLED IFR, ALTITUDE AT THAT TIME WAS 3,000 FT. APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES FROM RZZ THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER AND ALTITUDE COULD NOT BE HELD. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LOOKED FOR A PLACE TO LAND, THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT MAKE THE AIRPORT (RZZ). THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND ON I-95 (SOUTHBOUND LANES HAD LESS TRAFFIC). FLAPS WERE LOWERED AND GEAR WAS LOWERED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED, TAXIED TO SHOULDER OF ROAD AND THE PILOT AND PASSENGERS SAFELY EGRESSED FROM THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
