## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PHONE CONVERSATION WITH MR. WILSON (8/26/02) PILOT STATED THAT HE AND HIS SON WERE GOING TO MAKE A SHORT FLIGHT IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. ON TAKE OFF EVERYTHING WENT WELL (HE STATED THAT HE WAS CLOSE TO GROSS WEIGHT). FLYING OVER THE BAY THE PILOT STATED THAT HE BEGAN TO LOSE ALTITUDE, PILOT STATED THAT HE APPLIED POWER AND THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO BE STABLE BUT UNABLE TO GAIN ALTITUDE, AT THAT TIME THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND AS CLOSE TO THE SHORE AS POSSIBLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
