## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT THE TRUCKEE AIRPORT THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A TAILWIND GUST WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO LAND HARD. THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT SWERVED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. AS THE AIRCRAFT SWERVED OFF THE RUNWAY, THE PILOT EXECUTED A GO-AROUND. THE PILOT CONTINUED THE GO-AROUND THROUGH THE SAGE BRUSH FOR APPROXIMATELY 1200 FEET WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
