## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CANADIAN PILOT LES DAVENPORT WAS ON HIS FIRST CROSS COUNTRY TO THE U.S. WITH 140 HOURS TT AND 37 IN TYPE. HE WAS FLYING HIS NEWLY CERTIFIED VAN S RV-6A AIRCRAFT AND ATTEMPTED TO LAND AT GEG. HE HAD PROBLEMS FINDING THE AIRPORT AND SAID HE HAD LOST HIS CONCENTRATION AS HE FLARED AND DID NOT REACT TO SOME MILD TURBULENCE. HE HIT HARD, BOUNCED ONE TIME, AND LANDED ON THE NOSE WHEEL. THE NOSE GEAR LEG BENT. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS FOUND ON THIS IMMACULATE HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT. THIS INCIDENT FILE WILL BE REFERRED TO THE CANADIAN AUTHORITIES FOR THEIR ACTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
