## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOTS STATEMENT STATED THAT TOUCH DOWN ON THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS NORMAL AND ON ROLL OUT THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. LANDING GEAR RETRACTION WAS PERFORMED BY MAINT. PERSONNEL AND THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS IN TRANSION MODE AT THE TIME OF THE GEAR COLLAPSE. THERE WAS NO SYSTEM OR COMPONENT FAILURE. THIS INSPECTOR BELIEVES THE PILOT INADVERTENTLY RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR ON LANDING ROLL OUT THINKING THEY WERE THE FLAPS THAT HE RETRACTED. THE ELECTRICAL SWITCHES FOR LANDING GEAR AND THE FLAPS ARE IDENTICAL AND ARE LOCATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
