## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT (SHAWN WALL) STATED THAT HIS AIRCRAFT WAS AT DAWSON AIRPORT FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS FOR MAINTENANCE. ON WEDNESDAY, 08/28/02 HE PREFLIGHTED HIS AIRCRAFT AT DAWSON, FUELED HIS A/C AT DAWSON WITH APPROXIMATELY 25 TO 30 GALLONS OF FUEL AND DEPARTED DAWSON. APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT HIS ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH AND HE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED AT AMERICUS AIRPORT. SHAWN WALL CALLED THE MECHANIC AT DAWSON. UPON ARRIVAL OF THE MECHANIC THEY BOTH CHECKED THE AIRCRAFT AND DETERMINED IT WAS FILLED WITH 50% FUEL AND 50% WATER. THE MECHANIC TOOK THE THROTTLE BODY OFF THE AIRCRAFT AND FOUND IT FULL OF WATER, TRASH AND DEBRIS. THE MECHANIC TOOK THE THROTTLE BODY WITH HIM TO SEND IN FOR MAINTENANCE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
