## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT, THE RIGHT TIRE WENT FLAT AND THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY TURNED RIGHT, INTO THE GRASS AREA, THE TAIL CAME UP DURING THE TURN AND THE LEFT WING TIP SCRAPED THE GROUND, THE PROP HIT THE GROUND, THE TAIL CAME BACK DOWN AND DUE TO THE SIDE LOADING, THE TAIL WHEEL WAS TORN FROM THE AIRCRAFT. NO OTHER DAMAGE KNOWN AT THIS TIME, NEW WHEEL PANTS HAD JUST BEEN INSTALLED PRIOR TO THIS FLIGHT, IT WAS DISCOVERED BY THE OWNER/PILOT THAT THE WRONG LENGTH SCREWS WERE USED AND DURING WHEEL SPIN UP AT LANDING THE TIRE SWELLED ENOUGH TO MAKE CONTACT WITH A SCREW AND IT CUT THE RIGHT TIRE DOWN TO THE TUBE AND IT BLEW OUT. THE LEFT TIRE ALSO HAD A CUT STARTED BUT NOT AS DEEP AS THE OTHER SIDE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETRIEVED BY THE OWNER FOR REPAIRS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
