## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE TAXIING AT NIGHT FOR TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 32 AT SALT LAKE CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, THE PILOT BECAME DISTRACTED AND TAXIED BEYOND THE RUNWAY ONTO TAXIWAY THAT WAS CLOSED BY NOTAM. THE DISTRACTION CAUSED THE PILOT TO TEMPORARILY REMOVE HIS HEADSET. THE ATC CONTROLLER NOTICED THAT THE PILOT WAS HEADING TOWARD THE BARRIERS THAT CLOSED THE TAXIWAY AND INSTRUCTED THE PILOT TO "TURN RIGHT." THE PILOT DID, AND HIT A TAXIWAY LIGHT THAT WAS COVERED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
