## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. FARFAN STATED: ON SEP 20, 2002 HE WAS FLYING HIS FIRST SOLO AFTER COMPLETING A CHECK RIDE WITH AN INSTRUCTOR PRIOR TO THE MISHAP. HE WAS NOT TAKING ANY MEDICATION, NOR WAS THE WEATHER A FACTOR WHICH COULD HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE INCIDENT. WHILE LANDING ON HIS FIRST SOLO APPROACH HE FLARED TOO HIGH AND LANDED HARD ON THE MAIN GEAR AND BOUNCED. WHEN HE CAME DOWN AGAIN HE LANDED ON THE NOSE GEAR. THE NOSE GEAR DAMAGE OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT HE IS UNSURE. MR. FARFANS LOGBOOK SHOWS THAT HE HAS 17.2 HOURS OF FLYING TIME. HIS SOLO ENDORSEMENT WAS SIGNED BY CAITLIN M. SWEENEY INSTRUCTOR PILOT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
