## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS LANDING ON A BARLEY FIELD AT HIS FARM. NORMALLY HE HAS ALWAYS LANDED TO THE WEST. ON 09/28/02 THE WIND WAS OUT OF THE EAST SO HE MADE HIS FIRST LANDING TO THE EAST. THIS CALLED FOR STAYING HIGH TO CLEAR POWERLINES AND THEN DESCEND TO THE FIELD. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE PILOT OBSERVED HE WAS RUNNING OUT OF LENGTH IN THE FIELD TO STOP WITH NORMAL BRAKING. AT THIS POINT HE APPLIED HEAVY BRAKING TO HASTEN THE DECELERATION. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER AND SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. ONLY THE PILOT WAS ON BOARD AND THERE WAS NO BAGGAGE WITHIN THE AIRCRAFT.
