## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACTUAL REGISTRATION NUMBER IS NC4949. DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL THE "V" BRACE ON THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR BROKE. THE PIC WAS UNAWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, CONDUCTED HIS SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT AND LANDED. THE INVESTIGATION PROVED THE ORIGINAL "V" BRACE WELD BROKE ON THE TAKEOFF AND CAME OUT OF THE SADDLE. THE WHEEL WAS ATTACHED TO THE AXLE BUT COULD NOT SUPPORT THE AIRPLANE DURING THE LANDING.
