## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC CLAIMED THAT, DURING LANDING ROLLOUT ON RUNWAY 01, A WIND GUST PUSHED THE AIRPLANE TO THE RIGHT ANGLE WHERE HE ENCOUNTERED STANDING WATER THAT CAUSED HYDROPLANING AND THE AIRPLANE DRIFTED OFF THE RUNWAY, STRIKING A RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY EDGE LIGHT. HOWEVER, THE REPORTED WIND, TAKEN AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT, WAS 33010 (NO MENTION OF GUSTS). MKC ATCT MANAGER STATED THAT THE STANDING WATER WAS ACTUALLY BEYOND THE RUNWAY EDGE, AND NO OTHER PRECEDING ARRIVALS REPORTED ANY DIFFICULTY DURING LANDING. THIS WAS THE PIC'S FIRST FLIGHT IN N61550 AFTER A LOCAL CHECK-OUT BY THE FBO FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR. ALTHOUGH CERTIFICATED IN 1984, THE PIC HAD ONLY ACCRUED 150 HOURS THROUGH JULY, 2002. THIS INCIDENT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITT^ IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
