## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATES: TAKING OFF DOWN HILL TO THE EAST, JUST AFTER LIFT OFF MY LEFT WING HIT A CEDAR TREE CAUSING ME TO GO OFF THE ROAD. I HIT A ROCK WHICH SNAPPED OFF MY NOSE GEAR, THIS SLOWED ME DOWN. I STOPPED AFTER MY RIGHT WING HIT ANOTHER CEDAR TREE AND SPUN ME AROUND. I TURNED EVERYTHING OFF AND GOT OUT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN03LA004](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN03LA004), Oct 9, 2002: Beech C24R (N18917), Newcastle, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain clearance from the tree during takeoff. A factor was the reduced light conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
