## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 10/15/2002 MESA FLT 5776 DEPARTED LIT FOR CLY IN AIRCRAFT N855MJ A EMB 145 LR. ON CLIMB OUT A TEST OF THE ICING SYSTEM WAS PERFORMED, DURING THIS TEST A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD, AND EICAS MESSAGES OF LAV SMOKE, BLEED NO 1 LEAK, WING ANTIC FAIL AND OTHER EICAS ASSOCIATED MESSAGES WERE INDICATED. CHECKLIST WAS RUN AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO LIT WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE REPLACED BLOWN DUCT, COUPLINGS, ORLINGS AND INSULATION BLANKET. GROUND CHECKED RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
