## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCTOBER 22, 2002, AT 0231CDT, LR-25-B, N425JL, DIVERTED FROM ITS INTENDED DESTINATION DUE TO THE LEFT ENGINE LOSING ENGINE OIL PRESSURE (THE PILOT SECURED THE ENGINE IN FLIGHT). AT NEARLY THE SAME TIME THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM DEVELOPED A LEAK NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM. THE AIRCRAFT LOST ITS HYDRAULIC PRESSURE, THEREFORE THE PILOT USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM UPON LANDING AND THE AIRCRAFT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL UPON ROLLOUT AND CROSSED A GRASSY AREA WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PASSENGER AND CREW WERE NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED AS AN AIR AMBULANCE FLIGHT UNDER 14 CFR PART 135 AT THE TIME. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA WITH A DESTINATION OF POCATELLO, IDAHO. INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN HAD BEEN FILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
