## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH THE GUY WIRES OF A 750 FOOT RADIO TOWER. THE LEADING EDGE OF THE RIGHT WING WAS PEELED BACK WHEN THE PLANE HIT THE TOP THIRD OF THE GUY WIRES SUPPORTING THE KLZK-FM 97.3 RADIO TOWER IN PLAINVIEW TEXAS. THE PILOT HAD COMPLETED SPRAYING A FIELD AND WAS ADJUSTING THE SPRAY PRESSURE FOR THE NEXT FIELD. HE STATED THAT HE HAD CLIMBED UP TO A SAFE ALTITUDE AND WAS CRUISING EAST WHEN HE STRUCK THE GUY WIRE. THE AIRCRAFT SPUN AT LEAST 90 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT FROM THE IMPACT BEFORE THE PILOT STABILIZED THE AIRCRAFT USING FULL AILERON AND RUDDER DEFLECTIONS. HE MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING STRAIGHT AHEAD TO THE SOUTH, IN A WET AND MUDDY WHEAT FIELD WITH NO ADDITIONAL AIRCRAFT DAMAGE, THE RADIO TOWER COLLAPSED. THE RIGHT WING WAS PULLED BACKWARD, DEFORMING THE WING ROOT AND DAMAGING THE WING MOUNT IN THE FUSELAGE. THERE WAS A LOW OVERCAST AT ABOUT 1100 FEET AGL AND THE VISIBILITY HAD INCREASED TO 10 MILES AFTER THE RAIN AND DRIZZLE STOPPED A FEW HOURS BEFORE THIS ACCIDENT.
