## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCTOBER 25, 2002, AT 1749 LOCAL EST, A BEECH BARON AIRCRAFT, BE-55, (N511DM) WHEN LANDING TO RUNWAY 9 AT THE JOHNS ISLAND AIRPORT (KJZI), JOHNS ISLAND, SC, THE LEFT MAIN GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND. THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS MINIMAL. THE WEATHER WAS VFR, WITH 8 MILES VISIBILITY AND A CEILING OF 1600 FEET. THE WIND TO THE LANDING RUNWAY WAS A SLIGHT CROSSWIND FROM THE LEFT AT 8 KNOTS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER THE PILOT OR PASSENGER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
