## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER DOING AIRWORK FOR 1.5 HOURS, THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT FOR TOUCH AND GO'S ON RUNWAY 24L. STUDENT WAS HABITUALLY COMING IN LOW CARRYING POWER. AFTER THE FIRST TOUCH AND GO, THE AIRCRAFT WAS ASSIGNED RIGHT TRAFFIC RWY 24R. ON THE DOWNWIND LEG THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT WERE DISCUSSING APPROACH TECHNIQUES. TRAFFIC IN THE PATTERN JOINED THE AIRCRAFT AND TIME WAS SPENT LOOKING FOR IT, AS WELL AS ONE READY TO DEPART 24R. RADIO TRANSMISSIONS WERE BEING "STEPPED-ON" WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON SHORT FINAL, AND BY THE TIME THE INSTRUCTOR REALIZED THE SITUATION, IT WAS TOO LATE TO ATTEMPT A GO-AROUND. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
