## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THERE WERE SEVERAL WITNESSES THAT EITHER HEARD THE AIRPLANE OR SAW THE AIRPLANE FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT DISAPPEARED FROM THEIR VIEW. ONE WITNESS, WHO IS A PRIVATE PILOT, REPORTED SEEING THE AIRPLANE AT A LOW ALTITUDE (1,000 FEET) DOING POWER OFF STALL MANEUVERS. HE DESCRIBED THE FIRST STALL MANEUVER INITIATION AND RECOVERY AS "GOOD." THE POWER WAS REDUCED, THE NOSE PITCHED UP, FOLLOWED BY AN INCREASE OF POWER AS THE AIRPLANE RECOVERED FROM THE MANEUVER. DURING THE SECOND STALL MANEUVER, THE NOSE ROSE HIGHER THAN IT DID DURING THE FIRST MANEUVER, THE RIGHT WING DROPPED, FOLLOWED BY A STEEP NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. THE AIRPLANE ROTATED ABOUT ONE AND ONE HALF REVOLUTIONS BEFORE DISAPPEARING BEHIND TREES. PRIOR TO GROUND IMPACT, THE WITNESS HEARD THE ENGINES REV UP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW03FA027](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW03FA027), Nov 1, 2002: Aero Commander 500-B (N1HV), Rayville, LA, destroyed, 3 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot-in-command's failure to maintain adequate airspeed resulting in an inadvertent stall/spin.

## Other reports on N1HV (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19881128063819I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19881128063819I), Nov 28, 1988: Gulstm 500B (N1HV), Hemet, CA. Misjudged the distance and struck the rudder of a parked aircraft while taxiing to the tiedown area.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
