## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 11/12/02 AT APPROXIMATELY 2030, PA-28-182, N6957J, DURING LANDING ROLL, THE NOSE WHEEL DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THE NOSE WHEEL BOLT AND NUT COULD NOT BE FOUND. ALSO, ONE AXLE PLUG COULD NOT BE LOCATED. THE NOSE WHEEL AND AXLE WERE FOUND ABOUT 4 FEET BEHIND THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RUNWAY. NO RECENT MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED ON THE NOSE WHEEL AS PER THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
