## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED BILLINGS, MONTANA FOR WOLF POINT, MONTANA. 10 MILES EAST OF WOLF POINT THE CREW NOTICED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT, FOLLOWED BY THE RIGHT WING OVERHEAT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THE CREW FOLLOWED THE EMERGENCY CHECKLIST FOR A STEADY WING OVERHEAT WARNING LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT FAILED TO EXTINGUISH AFTER THE COOL DOWN PERIOD THE CREW SHUT THE RIGHT ENGINE DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT OR INJURIES. THE CABIN WAS NOT EVACUATED. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE SMOKE WAS A WIRE BUNDLE THAT HAD CHAFFED ON THE SAS COMPUTER CANNON PLUG LOCATED IN THE COPILOT'S SIDE CONSOLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
