## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON NOVEMBER 27, 2002 AT APPROXIMATELY 1700 PACIFIC STANDARD TIME, THE PILOT OF A CESSNA 172, N2423E LANDED AT HOLLISTER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA. THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER LANDING AND DURING THE ROLLOUT, THE PILOT APPLIED BRAKES AND INSTANTLY FELT THE AIRCRAFT PULL TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO COUNTER THE FORCE WITH RIGHT BRAKE YET IN CONTINUED TO THE LEFT. AFTER DEPARTING THE RUNWAY THE AIRCRAFT WENT INTO A DITCH AND NOSED OVER AND CAME TO REST INVERTED CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03LA039](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03LA039), Nov 28, 2002: Cessna 172N (N2423E), Hollister, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
