## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING ON INSTRUMENTS, PILOT STATED THERE WAS A LARGE CELL IN HIS VICINITY. HE WAS IN ICING CONDITIONS AND WAS BEING HIT HARD WITH STRONG UP AND DOWN DRAFTS. HE STATED THAT HE WAS TRYING TO MAINTAIN FL250 BUT COULD NOT BECAUSE OF THE TURBULENCE. THE LANCAIR HE WAS FLYING IS A HOME AMATEUR BUILT N750TL AND WEIGHS LESS THAN 3000 LBS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
