## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATEMENT FROM 6120.1/2 PILOT/OPERATOR AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT REPORT: AFTER DEPARTING THE GAINSVILLE, GA. AIRPORT, THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE SOUNDED NORMAL AND INSTRUMENT READINGS WERE NORMAL. AFTER CLIMBING TO 2500 FEET AND HEADING NORTH/EAST, THE ENGINE BEGAN MAKING A LOUD NOISE, AND LOSS OF POWER, MY FIRST INCLINATION WAS THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A GREATER LOUD NOISE. I STARTED TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT, I NOTICE THAT BECAUSE OF MY LOCATION IT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE TO RETURN TO GAINSVILLE AIRPORT. I ELECTED TO LAND ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY, BUT THERE WERE TOO MANY AUTOMOBILES, SO I LANDED ON THE STREET THAT RAN PARALLEL. I EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AND HELPED MY PASSENGER OUT. I RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES, BROKEN FINGER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
