## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 21 WHILE ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT THE APPROPRIATELY RATED AND CERTIFICATED PRIVATE PILOT WAS IN NORMAL CRUISE AT 4000MSL WHEN HE EXPERIENCED A TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. THE PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, WITH CMI APPROACH CONTROL. THE PIC MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES SW OF DANVILLE, ILLINOIS AIRPORT (DNV) COMING TO REST IN A HARVESTED FIELD. THE PILOT AND SINGLE PASSENGER EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY. THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BELLY OF THE AIRCRAFT AND PROPELLER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
