## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING AN INTERVIEW AT THE SAN DIEGO FSDO, THE AIRMAN STATED THAT HE NOTICED A FUEL LEAK AT THE CONNECTION OF ONE OF HIS PROPANE TANKS. WHEN HE DISCOVERED THE LEAK, HE WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND. AT THAT POINT, HE STARTED LOOKING FOR A LANDING SPOT. DURING HIS APPROACH FOR LANDING (WHICH WAS TO BE A CUL-DE-SAC) HE BRUSHED AGAINST A LIGHT POLE. AIRMAN STATED THAT HE TOUCHED DOWN ON THE STREET, SHUT OFF THE FUEL, AND THEN HAD HIS CHASE CREW "WALK" THE BALLOON OVER TO ANOTHER POINT ON THE STREET SO THEY COULD PACK IT UP. AIRMAN ALSO STATED HE MIGHT HAVE HELD UP TRAFFIC FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES. AREA WAS A RESIDENTIAL AREA WITH NO HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. AT THE TIME, THERE WERE 10 TO 12 PASSENGERS ON BOARD THE BALLOON.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
