## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 28, 2002, AT APPROXIMATELY 1630 EST A MOONEY M-20-R AIRCRAFT STRUCK A STATIONARY AIRCRAFT IN A TIE DOWN (NONE MOVEMENT AREA). THE OTHER AIRCRAFT WAS TIED DOWN AND NOT OPERATING. THE MOONEY AIRCRAFT HAD COME TO REST AT THE END OF A FLIGHT AND AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING SHUT DOWN THE PILOT, AN APPROPRIATELY RATED PRIVATE PILOT, INADVERTENTLY PUSHED THE THROTTLE FORWARD STRIKING THE PARKED AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
