As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC WAS WAITING FOR THE OTHER AIRCRAFT (N84889) TO GET STARTED BEFORE TAXIING OUT TO DEPART FOR NORTH LAS VEGAS AIRPORT (VGT). HIS AIRCRAFT ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT IDLE AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION. MR. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX03LA062](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX03LA062), Jan 9, 2003: Boeing Stearman PT-17 (N68820), Jean, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot of the other airplane's use of an improper starting procedure and his failure to obtain appropriate assistance.

## Other reports on N68820 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19820508014339A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820508014339A), May 8, 1982: Boeing A75N1 (N68820), Pleasant Grove, CA, Substantial damage, 1 fatal. Lost directional control on landing. Tried power to recover, ran off strip into a tractor, fatally injured driver.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
