## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) TALKED WITH PILOT ON 1-21-03. PILOT STATED HE WAS IN THE PATTERN AND THE TRAFFIC WAS FAIRLY HEAVY AND HE BECAME DISTRACTED WHEN TRAFFIC CALLED AND SAID THEY WERE ON SHORT FINAL. THIS PILOT SAID HE WAS ACTUALLY ON SHORT FINAL AND WAS LOOKING AROUND FOR OTHER AIRCRAFT AND FORGOT TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN. AS THE PILOT STARTED TO FLARE HE HEARD A BEEPING NOISE BUT IT WAS TOO LATE WHEN HE REALIZED WHAT IT WAS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS JACKED UP ON THE RUNWAY AND THE GEAR CAME DOWN WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE GEAR HORN WORKED PROPERLY WHEN A/C WAS ON JACKS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED BACK TO IT'S TIEDOWN SPOT AND SECURED. PILOT STATEMENT IS ATTACHED TO THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
