## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 01/20/03, AT 2:05 PM, LAKES AIR 5158, AN EMB-120 AIRLINER OPERATED BY GREAT LAKES AVIATION, LTD., WAS ON APPROACH TO DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (DIA) APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 15 MINUTES FROM THE AIRPORT WHEN THE CREW OBSERVED AN OIL PRESSURE LOW ANNUNCIATOR ON THE NUMBER 1 ENGINE. THEY OBSERVED OIL PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN THE PRESSURE DROPPING TOWARDS ZERO. THE CREW THEN PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN ON THE NUMBER 1 ENGINE. THEY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED AT DIA WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
