## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N7521A, DC-9-82 (MD82), BEING OPERATED AS AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT 1188 ENROUTE DENVER, CO TO CHICAGO, IL, DIVERTED INTO OMAHA, NE. DUE TO LOW OIL QUANTITY INDICATION IN THE RIGHT ENGINE. CONTRACT MAINTENANCE FOUND OIL DRIPPING FROM THE #2 ENGINE, AND BOTH OIL TEMPERATURE LABELS STARTING TO TURN BLACK. THE ORIGIN OF THE OIL LEAK WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE ENGINE WAS CHANGED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
