## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FLIGHT 863, OPERATING AS A 14 CFR 121 FLIGHT, WAS MAKING A SCHEDULED TOP AT KIPNUK, AK. IN THE COURSE OF THE POST LANDING ROLLOUT ON RUNWAY 33, THE CREW FAILED TO MAINTAIN POSITIVE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED TO THE LEFT AND THEN VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AND ON TO THE SHOULDER. ALL EFFORTS BY THE CREW TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT AND BRING IT BACK TO THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY FAILED. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP FACING NEARLY 90 DEGREES TOWARD THE RUNWAY AND WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. THE RUNWAY SURFACE CONDITIONS WERE REPORTED TO BE APPROXIMATELY ONE INCH OF COMPACTED SNOW AND ICE OVER GRAVEL. THE GRAVEL WAS VISIBLE ONLY IN ISOLATED AREAS. A CROSSWIND OF 050 DEGREES MAGNETIC, AT 15 KNOTS, PREVAILED.
