## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED ICING, SALT LAKE CENTER CLEARED HIM FOR AN ILS APPROACH TO RKS. AIRCRAFT WAS NOT CERTIFICATED FOR KNOWN ICING. PILOT REPORTED BREAKING OUT AND HAVING TROUBLE IDENTIFYING THE AIRPORT. PILOT DID NOT MAINTAIN ASSIGNED ALTITUDE. VISIBILITY WAS LESS THAN ONE MILE, PILOT COULD NOT LOCATE THE AIRPORT AND COLLIDED WITH THE TERRAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN03FA040](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN03FA040), Jan 30, 2003: Beech V35B (N935V), Rock Springs, WY, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed, resulting in a stall. Factors contributing to the accident were the icing conditions, low altitude, and the high gusting winds.

## Other reports on N935V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19880420021209I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19880420021209I), Apr 20, 1988: Beech V35B (N935V), Mccomb, MS, Minor damage. Electrical failure. Unable to crank gear down. Gear partially retracted landing. Suspect faulty aux power solenoid.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
