## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PIC INDICATED THAT THE SUN GLARE FROM THE WEST MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO IDENTIFY AND LAND ON RUNWAY 26. AS THE PILOT WAS ON SHORT FINAL TO RUNWAY 26, HE INADVERTENTLY LANDED ON THE GRAVEL INFIELD OF THE AIRPORT LOCATED BETWEEN RUNWAY 26 AND THE TAXIWAY. UPON CONTACT WITH THE GRAVEL, THE NOSE WHEEL COLLAPSED. A LOCAL A&P/IA THAT WORKED AT THE AIRPORT INSPECTED THIS AIRCRAFT AND DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT WAS COUNSELED ON HOW TO LAND ON THE RUNWAY WHEN THE SUN IS SETTING. ISSUED WARNING NOTICE TO PILOT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
