## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING PARKED AT THE GATE, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE RIGHT NOSE WHEEL WAS MISSING. THE AIRPORT AUTHORITY WAS NOTIFIED. THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND THE OUTER HALF OF THE AXLE WERE FOUND ON THE TAXIWAY. THE AXLE STILL HAD THE WHEEL RETAINING NUT AND LOCKING BOLT INSTALLED. THE CONDITION OF THE WHEEL BEARINGS DOES NOT INDICATE A BEARING FAILURE. THE AXLE BROKE BETWEEN THE BEARING FLATS. THE BREAK APPEARS CLEAN ALL THE WAY AROUND AND DOES NOT SHOW SIGNS OF LONG TERM DAMAGE. THE AXLES AND COMPONENTS ARE BEING SENT TO THE ATR FOR ANALYSIS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
