## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS RETURNING TO AIKEN, SC FROM DONALDSON AIRPORT IN GREENVILLE, SC. IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT WITH MARGINAL WEATHER CONDITIONS. PILOT, UPON ENTERING THE CLOUD, DESCENDED FIRST THEN STARTED A TURN. DURING THE TURN, HE LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND CRASHED INTO THE TREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL03LA050](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL03LA050), Mar 1, 2003: Cessna 152 (N67524), Greenwood, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's continued visual flight into instrument meteorological conditions and loss of aircraft control, which resulted in an in-flight collision with the ground.

## Other reports on N67524 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19940703017199A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19940703017199A), Jul 3, 1994: Cessna 152 (N67524), Atlanta, GA, Substantial damage. Lost control during short field practice takeoff. Lost control veered off runway. Struck five parked aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
