## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT TAKEOFF FROM KSEA WITH GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS (200/24G31) AND REPORTED WINDSHEAR (+/-20 KNOTS) PILOT FELT THE AIRCRAFT SETTLE SLIGHTLY AT LIFT OFF AND THOUGHT THE MAIN GEAR HAD JUST TOUCHED THE RUNWAY. AT 2000 ON CLIMB OUT, A FLIGHT ATTENDANT CALLED THE COCKPIT TO REPORT THAT SHE HAD HEARD A NOISE ON TAKEOFF. THE FLIGHT RETURNED TO KSEA AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED THE TAIL SKID HAD SLIGHTLY IMPACTED THE RUNWAY. THE POST FLIGHT INSPECTION FOUND THE CRUSHABLE CORE OF THE TAIL SKID WAS WELL WITHIN LIMITS. A CHECK AIRMAN IN THE FLIGHT DECK JUMPSEAT DURING THIS INCIDENT REPORTED THAT THE CREW HAD BRIEFED FOR A GUSTY WIND TAKEOFF PROCEDURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
