## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER A LOCAL VFR FLIGHT THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 27 AT LINDEN AIRPORT. THE WINDS WERE GUSTING FROM APPROXIMATELY 330. THE FIRST ATTEMPT RESULTED IN A GO-AROUND. ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT, AFTER TOUCHDOWN, THE RIGHT WING LIFTED AND THE AIRPLANE VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE LEFT WHEEL STRUCK A SNOW PILOT LEFT AFTER SNOW REMOVAL. THE GEAR SHEARED OFF AND THE AIRPLANE STRUCK THE LEFT WING-TIP, THE PROP STRUCK THE GROUND AND THE NOSE COWL SUSTAINED DAMAGE. THE AIRPLANE THEN CONTINUED INTO AN ADJACENT DRAINAGE DITCH WHERE IT CAME TO REST. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT AND ONE PASSENGER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC03LA065](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC03LA065), Mar 10, 2003: Cessna 172P (N30EF), Linden, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the crosswind and his failure to maintain directional control during landing. Factors in the accident were the crosswind and the snowbank.

## Other reports on N30EF (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19901001060189I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19901001060189I), Oct 1, 1990: Cessna 172P (N30EF), Daytona Beach, FL. Student lost directional control on rollout. Veered left off runway into a ditch.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
