## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT FLEW AIRCRAFT TO ALN AND SHOT TWO INSTRUMENT APPROACHES WITHOUT LANDING. WHEN THE GEAR WAS RETRACTED, A POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE NOSE GEAR WAS OBSERVED IN A MIRROR TO BE HANGING OUT OF THE WHEEL WELL. PILOT MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO LOWER GEAR AND GET IT TO LOCK, INCLUDING EXTENDING THE GEAR MANUALLY. PILOT DIVERTED TO SUS WHERE EMERGENCY GEAR WAS AVAILABLE. ON ROLL-OUT, THE NOSE WHEEL COLLAPSED. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO NOSE CONE, NOSE GEAR DOORS AND ONE PROPELLER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
