## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FLIGHT 1799 ENROUTE ORD TO TPA EXPERIENCED A SERIES OF COMPRESSOR STALLS ON THE LEFT ENGINE. POWER WAS REDUCED TO IDLE. THE STALLS REPEATED WHEN POWER WAS REAPPLIED. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND THE FLIGHT DIVERTED TO IND. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FOUND THAT 12 BLADES OF THE 6TH STAGE OF COMPRESSION WERE BENT FROM CONTACT WITH THE LINNER. ONE BLADE HAD BROKEN LOOSE. METAL WAS FOUND IN THE TAIL PIPE. AN SDR IS TO BE SUBMITTED BY THE OPERATOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
