## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON TAKE OFF, THE AIRPLANE BECAME AIRBORNE WITHOUT SUFFICIENT AIRSPEED TO MAINTAIN FLIGHT. THE AIRPLANE SUBSEQUENTLY SETTLED BACK ON THE RUNWAY, STRIKING THE GROUND WITH THE LEFT WINGTIP AND THE LEFT LANDING GEAR. THIS CAUSED THE AIRPLANE TO ROTATE TO THE LEFT CAUSING THE PROP TO STRIKE THE GROUND AND CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI03LA093](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI03LA093), Mar 30, 2003: Luscombe 8A (N45799), Sturtevant, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's abrupt liftoff resulting in his failure to maintain adequate airspeed followed by a stall. Also causal was the instructor's inadequate supervision.

## Other reports on N45799 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19990730024529I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19990730024529I), Jul 30, 1999: Luscom 8A (N45799), Owensboro, KY. Lost power die to oil pressure problem landed on road no damage/injuries. Review of aircraft maintenance records are pending.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
