## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT INDICATED THAT HE TOOK OFF ON RUNWAY 24 AND MADE A TRAFFIC PATTERN TO LAND ON THE SAME RUNWAY. ON SHORT FINAL, THE PILOT SAID THE AIRCRAFT BALLOONED AND THEN A GUST OF WIND HIT THE AIRCRAFT CAUSING THE LEFT WING TO COME UP. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT THEN STRUCK THE RUNWAY CAUSING THE NOSE GEAR TO COLLAPSE BACKWARD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL03LA074](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL03LA074), Apr 5, 2003: Cessna 152 (N6599B), Summerville, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper flare and recovery from a bounced landing.

## Other reports on N6599B (1)

- [Incident 19870508035789I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19870508035789I), May 8, 1987: Cessna 152 (N6599B), Lawrenceville, GA, Minor damage. Aircraft veered off the runway during rollout. Solo student claimed a quartering tailwind on rollout.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
