## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC CANCELLED IFR APPROXIMATELY 18 MILES SE PLK. HE CONTINUED INBOUND AND ENTERED A LEFT BASE FOR RUNWAY 29; HOWEVER, HE NEGLECTED TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. ACCORDING TO THE PIC, HIS DAUGHTER WAS SCREAMING DUE TO SEVERE EAR AND SINUS PAIN WHICH DISTRACTED HIM. HIS HEADSET AND DAUGHTER'S LOUD SCREAMING PRECLUDED HIS HEARING THE AURAL GEAR WARNING HORN. N231FB LANDED ON RUNWAY 29 WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE RETRACTED POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED ON THE RUNWAY, AND THE OCCUPANTS WERE ABLE TO EGRESS WITHOUT INJURY. AFTER N231FB WAS REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY, THE AIRPLANE WAS LIFTED, BATTERY POWER WAS APPLIED, THE GEAR WARNING HORN SOUNDED, AND THE LANDING GEAR WAS EXTENDED WITH THE GEAR SELECTOR. THIS INCIDENT ^PRIVACY DATA OMIT^ IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
