## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 18, 2003, 1700 EDT, A LEAR JET MODEL LR-31-A, S/N 31A-109, N722JS, OPERATED JETSMART INC., EXPERIENCED A DECOMPRESSION AT FLIGHT LEVEL 310. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, AND LANDED AT THE ATLANTIC CITY AIRPORT WITH ARFF STANDING BY. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT, AND FOUND THE LOWER CABIN DOOR SEAL HAD BEEN INSTALLED PRIOR TO THIS FLIGHT. THE DOOR SEAL DID NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED HOLES INSTALLED PER THE LEAR JET MAINTENANCE MANUAL. THE CONTRACT MECHANIC INSTALLED THE HOLES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL, AND PRESSURIZED THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE ENGINES, WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE AND MOVED TO AN BOMBARDIER AEROSPACE, FAA 145 REPAIR STATION SERVICE CENTER, FOR MORE TESTING. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT (KBDR). THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
