## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE LANDING AT MSV, PILOT EXPERIENCED A RIGHT DRIFT AT AN ALTITUDE OF APPROXIMATELY ONE FOOT AND INITIATED A GO-AROUND. DURING GO-AROUND, THE PILOT ADDED FULL POWER AND CARB HEAT, RETRACTED THE FLAPS AND LANDING GEAR, AND IMPACTED THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT SLID ON THE GRASS FOR APPROXIMATELY 750 FEET AND CAME TO REST AT THE BOTTOM OF A 30 FOOT EMBANKMENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC03LA093](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC03LA093), Apr 28, 2003: Cessna R182 (N1695R), Monticello, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's premature raising of the flaps during the aborted landing. A factor in this accident was the crosswind condition.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
