## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT ACCELERATE NORMALLY ON TAKEOFF ROLL, AND THAT THE TAIL DID NOT COME UP AT THE SAME POINT ON THE RUNWAY THAT IT NORMALLY DID. AFTER LIFT-OFF THE PILOT STARTED DUMPING THE LOAD OF LIQUID FERTILIZER, THE AIRCRAFT STILL LOST ALTITUDE, STRIKING A 5 FOOT TALL STEEL POST WHICH SEVERED ABOUT FOUR FEET OF THE RIGHT WING TIP. THE AIRCRAFT THEN IMPACTED THE GROUND, KNOCKED THE PROPELLER OFF, SLID INTO A BERM, BREAKING THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT OFF, AND FINALLY SLID TO STOP ABOUT 150 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY CAUGHT FIRE WHICH DEMOLISHED THE ENTIRE FUSELAGE AND PART OF BOTH WINGS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW03LA141](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW03LA141), Apr 28, 2003: Air Tractor AT-502B (N60819), Pond Creek, OK, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain adequate airspeed during liftoff resulting in a stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
