## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 4/30/03, ABOUT 07:30 MR. DON HOLLOMON WAS ENROUTE TO W87 FROM NEWPORT NEWS (PHF). HE WAS IN CONTACT WITH WASHINGTON CENTER. AT AN ALTITUDE OF 7000 FT, MR. HOLLOMON EXPERIENCED ENGINE FAILURE, FORCING HIM TO LAND WITHOUT POWER AT SALISBURY, MD (SBY). THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE AIRCRAFT. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT, FOUND A HOLE IN THE ENGINE CASE THE SIZE OF A QUARTER (OVER #2 CYLINDER). SINCE THERE IS NO FUNDING FOR AN ENGINE TEARDOWN, WE WERE UNABLE TO VERIFY THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE FAILURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
