## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 10, 2003, AT APPROXIMATELY 0900 DST, A DEHAVILLAND CHIPMUNK, DHC-1, N88BA, COLLIDED WITH A CESSNA 172, N1HD, ON TAXIWAY N AT THE BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LOCATED IN BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA. N88BA HAD LANDED AND WAS TAXIING TO PARK WHEN THE TOWER INSTRUCTED THE PILOT TO CROSS RUNWAY 18 AT TAXIWAY F. THE PILOT READ THE CORRECT INSTRUCTIONS BACK TO THE TOWER BUT PROCEEDED TO TAXIWAY N TO CROSS RUNWAY 18. AFTER TURNING TO TAXIWAY F N88BA COLLIDED WITH THE LEFT OUTBOARD WING OF THE CESSNA 172 CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
